|
For medical grade pure titanium rods, we can supply commercially pure(CP) titanium including GR1, GR2, GR3 and GR4 medical titanium rods meets ASTM F67 and ISO5832-2 standard.Commercially pure (CP) titanium, including Gr1, Gr2, Gr3 and Gr4, which is valued for its exceptional corrosion resistance, biocompatibility, and formability, but offers lower strength. It is commonly used for non-load-bearing or low-load medical implants.

Key Characteristics |
Highest ductility, lowest strength. Excellent formability. |
The standard, balanced grade. Excellent combination of strength and ductility. |
Medium strength. Less common than Grade 2 or 4. |
The strongest unalloyed grade. Still maintains good ductility. |
Note: The modulus of elasticity for pure titanium is about half that of stainless steel or cobalt-chromium alloys, and significantly lower than Ti6Al4V, which reduces stress shielding.
Medical Applications
This medical grade pure titanium rods in different properties makes them used for specific clinical needs:
- GR1 Titanium: Used for implants requiring extreme formability into complex shapes, such as cranial meshes. It is very soft and can be easily contoured during surgery to fit bone contours.
- GR2 Titanium: The most widely used medical grade. It is the primary material for dental implants, offering a perfect balance of sufficient strength (to withstand occlusal forces) and excellent biocompatibility.
- GR3 Titanium & GR4 Titanium: Used in applications requiring higher load-bearing capacity.
GR4 Titanium is commonly used for orthopedic bone screws, bone plates, and higher-strength dental implants. It provides the highest mechanical strength in the CP titanium family while maintaining excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility.
Summary
Talent Titanium supply medical grade pure titanium rods from GR1 to GR4 titanium. All grades share the core advantages of pure titanium like superior biocompatibility and corrosion resistance, and their distinct mechanical properties make them suitable for different medical applications.
